Mixture of Unexpected Colors
Mixture of Unexpected Colors from nature to man made. We are camping at a spot in Georgia that has a mixture of color during this month of December. This little bug landed on a board that was covered with raindrops. I do not know what kind of bug it is, but I found the colors to be interesting with its orange stripes and red legs.
This rv campground is also a mixture of trailer houses and spots for your rv. But they made it very colorful by painting all the trailer homes bright colors. Definitely a southern feel to it. We are in the midst of the cold weather down here in Georgia as well as all over the country.
But no snow, so I can’t complain.

That is colorful – reminds me a little of the “Painted Ladies” row of tall houses in San Francisco, only shorter and more modern looking. That is an unusual bug. I Googled Imaged it and it’s a Two-Lined Spittlebug.
I never thought to do the googled image it. I will have to try that. I don’t normally take pictures of bugs. But this one was so different.
Yes, that worked well and I’ve done it before with birds, although now I finally bought a bird book for myself, Michigan birds only, but this year was odd for finding so many different birds … for me that won’t likely happen again unless I expand my horizons. π I just took a screenshot of your bug – voila, it gave me the name in Google Images.
Here in South Africa we have a place in Cape Town where the people paint there houses all types of colours. It does look really great.
It sure brightens up the landscape especially in winter here. π

Thanks Sandra. Glad yβall are enjoying your latest trip to the South. The insect appears to be a Two-lined Spittlebug.
Thank you for telling me that. I don’t usually photograph bugs. But this one is so colorful.
I love the effect of the raindrops on the board, and how the color is picked up in the insectβs stripes!
Thank you very much, it really added to the shot with almost matching colors. π
These colours are super lovely π
They do brighten up the winter a bit. π
The insect looks a bit like a cicada, but I’m not sure.
I thought so also Rudi, but it was quite small and the wings are so colorful. π
