Light House Photography

Light House Photography, Well we made it to Georgia and made our way to a place called Tybee Island where I photographed my first Light House. It was in a perfect location not far from the beach.

I definitely would like to find more of these to photograph. There is so much you can do with the photo, they make excellent paintings and look good as black and white as well.

Now I learned how to make the light flash on my photo, as I am writing this we will see if it works when it is posted. Oh, and now we have seen the Atlantic Ocean. 🙂

  1. An amazing light effect Sandra! If you and your husband ever decide to plan a trip to explore the light houses of the east coast, plan a stop in Cape May, NJ. Cape May Point state park not only has a beautiful light house it also has a bird conservatory with lookouts designed for bird watchers. The park is along the migration paths of many song and shore birds. It’s even home to the “Cape May Warbler”

    1. Thank you so much for the tip Beth, I marked it on my map. This was the first light house I have photographed and it was just perfect. A great location and it was such a pretty color.

  2. Now that brings back memories from our trip there. Love the third picture in the set, gives you a feeling of standing back in time when the lighthouses were the life savers for many a sailor.

    1. Yes, I love them. This is the first one I have photographed that looks like a light house. We have seen a couple up by lake superior that didn’t look like this at all. It was actually hard to tell it was a light house if not for the light on top of the building. 🙂

  3. Beautiful shots, Sandra! I love this lighthouse. Your pictures bring back great memories of making the climb to the top, on a very hot and humid May day.
    Many Blessings

    1. Thank you very much Lisa, that is what I like about photography, that it reminds folks of places they have been or places they might yet see. 😊

  4. Thank you Sandra. Good work. The Lighthouse is a good theme to work with for what it represents. Our Lord truly is a guiding Light. I visited Tybee Island several years ago. It’s a great place as is Savannah. Wonderful people in Georgia.

    1. Very true RJ, His light we can see every where. Tybee island is so nice. Lots of history in Savanna are. We are enjoying it.

    1. Thank you Kellye, I love them as well and this is the first one I have photographed. It was in such a beautiful setting with tall dried grass in the for ground. Beautiful place.😊

    1. How cool that you live right there. We were visiting our son in Glenville and took a day drive down there. That is my first photograph of a light house and such a beautiful one it is. I love the color of it. I will make a future post on creating the blinking light. I did it in photoshop.

    1. Thank you Emilie, I looked it up to see if it was possible to do and it was to my surprise. I love figuring out how to do new things.

  5. Lighthouses are imho so fascinating, probably because we adore the sea and sail a lot when we have the chance – really enjoyed these views. 🙂

    1. Thank you Denzil, I would have to go back and look at the tutorial I found on how to make it. It consisted of making different layers and putting a white light on each layer in a different area of the photo. Then it is rendered into one clip. It is all done in photoshop. Amazing what we can create on the computers 🙂
