Just One Shot
Just One Shot is all I get of these sand hill cranes. They landed in the field next to our place. You can hear them easily in the mornings, as they make their bird calls.
This particular morning they flew right over my head and landed the next field over. I went out there to get a photo of them and only snapped this one before they took off. They were quite far away as well.
I never realized they have red eyes like the black swans until I looked at this photo.

Nice! This reminds me of our all day hunt for the elusive Sarus Crane in Cambodia. It is the worlds tallest flying bird!
I have never heard of that bird. I will look it up to see what it looks like.
On the way back to the hotel we did see a flock of them!!
The pair of Sandhill Cranes are lovely, but so is the Black Swan with its unique beak and dazzling eyes.
So awesome. Thank you Sandra. Have a great weekend also
You as well RJ, thank you
Great shooting. Congrats 🤣😎🙃
Thank you very much ☺️ 😊
Looking Good!
Thank you Mary ☺️
Wow!
The most interesting bird we’ve had here was a lodt pea hen. Sooo noisy!!
I take our sub-flock of green parrots for granted. The flock is huuuge when all together, but that happens in another part of town.
I have never heard of that bird. I can’t imagine parrots just flying wild. Only see those in a pet store.
Pea Hens are female peacocks. Biring grey colors and no fancy tail.
Beauty ! Thank you, Sandra. Have a great weekend ! 💙💙💙🙏
You also Francine, thank you 😊 🙏
