Another King will leave traveling North back into the Mountains of no name to be with His Father. He leaves with Duty, Purpose, Honor and Courage. For you see he wears many faces, a Soldier a father a King. And then, in the still of the night, when the Light is low in the heavens. Look up son, for I will call your name and you will return to Me. To stand with those who went before you. To rest in Me for eternity.
Peace be with you Mark, I will forever remember the day I found your post with the simple words that caught my eyes. The Rural Iowegian. 💕 There is no fear in the walls of faith.
I started reading Marks post (the Rural Iowegian), back in 2019. He struggled with cancer for 509 days and recently went home to be with our Father. May he rest in peace for evermore.

This was a beautiful tribute to Mark. He fought a long battle and I was not there when he started his blog while recovering from a stroke. His family would like to see this post Sandra.
Thank you very much Linda, I sent similar words as a comment a few days back. When he said he was going on hospice soon. I am thankful his daughter let us know that he went peacefully in his sleep.
Hospice makes the end of life much better – my neighbor had cancer and his son was taking care of him the last six months and the son sang the praises of hospice. Peacefully in your sleep is the way to go.
Not familiar with this individual, but always saddened when I hear/read about such struggles as these. It is past time to implement a “warp speed” initiative to leap frog our current advancement on this horrible disease that has also impacted my immediate family (and taken 7 of my uncles/aunts). Mark has shed the pains of our earthly existence and now enjoying the wonders of the afterlife.
I agree, in the early stages for him they said they got all the cancer and then it came back worse. Cancer has taken a lot of my family as well. It is a horrible disease.
This is just so beautiful.

I began to read his blog after you first mentioned it in one of your posts. I could tell from his last entries that the end was approaching. Rural Iowegian’s daughter wrote a beautiful entry letting us know what had happened. Your blog post today is a beautiful gift to a stalwart and beloved man.
Thank you, yes he held on as long as his body would let him. I am glad his daughter let us know and that she was there to get the right pain medication to let him rest.
