Harvesting Beans
Harvesting Beans in Iowa. Harvest was in full swing when we were in Iowa, it is hard to get a photo of combines in the field without some windmills in the background.
Husband has a quick mind for coming up with funny statements. He saw this photo and said, ” So that is how they dry beans in Iowa.” Get it, the big turbines, they are spinning and drying the bean fields. :0 Ha, Love his sense of humor.
I took these photos with a cell phone camera, so the windmills look kind of funny when the camera does not have a fast enough shutter speed.

Our fields are alive as they say. Not to mention our rural roads often come to a crawl as the big combines make their way to and from the fields. Love the golden hues in the fields this time of the year.
Me too, harvest time is so pretty.
That husband of yours is pretty witty Sandra. 🙂
Yes he is, and quick with the funny thoughts.
It amazes me how a truck can harvest.
I like your husband’s sense of humor.
He always thinks of stuff like that. 🙂
Nice photos, Sandra. It is amazing to see all the windmills near the fields.
Yes, there are a lot of them in Iowa.
Fun! I always enjoy harvest photos!
Me to Marland
We’re going to be getting windmills off the coast of LB, but I don’t know when. I’m used to seeing the ones around Palm Springs.
I love seeing the harvest pics… actually, any pic of American stereotypes that are different than mine (palm trees & cacti)!
There are lots of windmills in Iowa. Isn’t it fun to see all the different landscapes across the country. 🙂
I can’t find one of my local faves, a huuuge tumbleweed rolling down a major street. They’re not super common here but it was a great “western” moment!
I have seen one tumbleweed when going through Kansas a long time ago. It was huge and the wind was blowing. It slammed right into the side of my car.
Any paint damage? They’re usually super thorny.
I can’t remember now, it was so long ago. But it was scary, just the sound of it hitting the car because I did not see it coming.
