Harvest Time in the Mid West

Harvest Time in the Mid West

Harvest Time in the Mid West, as we left Iowa on our journey south. I had to take some photos of the daisies growing in the ditches along the country roads of. An abundance of food for the little insects during this time of year and of course what is Iowa if one does not stop and take photos of the tall ornamental grasses around the lakes and Corn. Lots and lots of corn.

  2. Harvest time in the Midwest … are you seeing large farm machinery baling the hay and harvesting the crops too? This was certainly a pretty day for photos – look at that bright blue sky!

    1. Thank you Linda, when I visited my sister in Iowa they were out in the fields harvesting the corn their. Those new tractors are amazing to watch out in the fields.

      1. I was listening to a program one time about how the farmers now have their crops digitized for watering and harvesting. They had the water programmed to turn on from a laptop and the farmer was in the house controlling it all. They also use computers to keep track of what fields to lay fallow one year to the next, especially for big farms. Amazing.

          1. That amazes me too. I was listening to a computer show and the farmer was on explaining it – he said farming today was nothing like when he was starting out, if you had the resources to have the farm digitized. Amazing!

    1. Sounds good, a friend of ours brought us some sweet corn the other day. It was so good. So much better then canned corn from a store.
