Change of Plans
I had to delete my site because of the rising cost with wordpress. Plus charging me for the Premium plus package that I did not order. But, working with wordpress, they were able to change my plan back to what I started with. More information on that next week.

Other WP users are posting about leaving the platform due to cost and frustrations with updates. One blogger is being charged specifically for the number of photos she has in the media library. She was told to pay more or delete the archivesโฆ๐

I came here after Vox shut down. It was extremely community oriented but we scattered to 3 different sites, then people abandoned those too. Of about 100 online friends (many of whom I met through site-sponsored parties), I’m still in touch with maybe 4.
What’s driving you to leave? No chance of starting a new, free, wp page? A friend in India has done that 3 times – I think she prints her subscrption list before she goes because several of us get msg’d about her newest page.
Yes, it is the price. They just charged me over 400 dollars without my permission as well. That is to much for me. I started with a free site, and now they are charging me. I will look into it again in the morning..
O.M.G.!!!!!!!! Are you contesting it? If not, disable autopay. I found a charity was double billing me and, despite laws about easy opt-out, it was a pain to stop. Made me sad because I previously admired them.
Yes, I called them right away and I told them they charged me without permission. I did not have auto pay on, and the man on the phone even said they he saw I was not signed up for auto pay. That is when I canceled it and they are refunding the money.

Loved seeing your posts, Sandra. By chance, is part of your reason for leaving is WP itself? I gave up sometime back. WP is not easy to use anymore.

Yes, mostly the cost..it went way up. Over 400 dollars. If I ever find a cheaper one I will come back. But cost are going up everywhere. One has to pick and choose. ๐

Yes, that is what I said. And they charged my card without my permission. So I called them, and said I was done. They tried to sell me a cheaper plan. But it will still go up in the long run. So I decided to use one of my other platforms for my photos. I am not sure how long until they shut my site off. So I am glad I can say thank you to a few today yet. I might squeeze in one more post tomorrow. My photography venture is growing, which did not allow me enough time to read others post either. So, new adventures await. Thank you again..

Yes, or they will be gone. Like flipping a switch. Someone mentioned that i could look for a different blog host. I might, but it is a lot of work to start one and then not be able to find the same people that I got to know. Sounds like a lot of people are talking about quitting because of the price.

Yes, i have always had facebook. But now I am adding a little more to it. I have never had Twitter. Instagram I have. Don’t use it much. I hear rumors that facebook might start charging. They make enough money.off of adds. I would hate to see them charge as well.
