For the Love of Shore Birds
For the Love of Shore Birds, now when it comes to shore birds. Pelicans are my favorite. They are so unique looking and have this cute little waddle as they walk.
Gulls are a dime a dozen, there are lots of them but each one seems to be so unique as well with their color patterns and markings.
Herons are my next favorite, they just have such an elegant look to them with their flowing feathers and beautiful markings.

Still waiting to see a pelican in these parts – that might not happen, so will enjoy yours for now Sandra. I do see lots of seagulls, especially the Ring-billed Seagulls, most common gulls around here. Those herons are beautiful, though a big gawky looking sometimes on the ground, but streamlined in flight.
They are amazing birds to see Linda.
Great photography! 👍
Thank you very much Jerome.
Great pictures Sandra. I also love the shore birds. In my times at the shore I always counted the Pelicans flying in V-formation overhead. Sometimes there were quite a few up there, often over a dozen and upwards. Thanks
I have seen that phenomenon where sometimes they are so high up I can barely see them. 😊
Love the composition in the second shot, the reeds provide a nice framing and the birds glance back is perfect.
I liked that also, I was watching him as I was walking along and then the perfect opening in the grass was there.
Wonderful photos.
Thank you very much Janet.
So beautiful, Sandra!
Thank you, eagles are by far my favorite.
Wonderful photos, Sandra. Thank you.
I just saw a great blue heron fly overhead yesterday. So beautiful.
Thank you Francine, yes the herons are so pretty especially in the spring.
The last shot is realy artistic Sandra.
Thank you Rudi, birds make wonderful paintings, especially herons with their long feathers and bright eyes.
Unique birds indeed. The Pelicans look like they tilt their heads at an extreme angle but I think it’s natural to them. Wonderful images.
Thank you, yes I have taken photos of them with their heads in the most unique positions from straight up, like they are stretching their entire necks. Amazing birds.
Love the heron in breeding plumage, an artform in itself.
It really is Ash, their feathers are just so elegant this time of year.
So many beautiful photos! ❤️
Thank you very much John
