End May With a New Bird Count
End May With a New Bird Count, 142 birds photographed. Remember, there are over 900 birds species in North America. So I have a long ways to go.
This first new bird to my eyes is the Western Tanager. What a bright colored bird, orange and yellows. We were camped at a small campground and I went for a walk and saw all these bright colored birds. I went over to the fence where they were all flying about to see what was attracting them all to this area and come to find out the owner had taken the honey comb trays out of his bee hives and these birds were loving that.
Next is the Bullocks Oriole, it was getting in on the action of the honey as well.

Laughter is like sunshine!!
I find it strange I have not seen hardly any squirrels. They must all be in the mid west. π
They know how to handle squirrels in Texas
Lol, π
The vibrant colors – these birds looked happy to pose for you! Keep tallying up more birds Sandra!
They are so bright, they looked like something you would see in a bird store.
I was going to say that they looked a little like a parrot or even the smaller kind of parrots called a parrotlet.
Those Westerns are gorgeous! Hard to tell which Tanager I like best, they are all so colorful. Bullocks are equally impressive – great adds.
Love all of your Tanagers Sandra, they are such bright handsome birds.
Thank you, they look more like the birds you have over there, because they are so colorful. π
I would right in there just like the birds because I love honey! Wonderful photos! Congratulations
Thank you very much, yes they told me that all his bees left so he took the combs out to dry and the birds didn’t take long to find them..
The count starts again. You have collected quite a number of birds.
Those photographed are splendid.
Thank you very much, yes the number keeps increasing as spring is here in the west. π

142 birds listed, it’s incredible. It is true that you travel a lot but you are very lucky. Bravo sandra. π
Thank you very much, yes most of this trip has been before migration started, but now all of a sudden more birds are showing up out west here.
The Western Tanager is a real beauty. My congrats with the amount of birds you already photographed Sandra. Now and then I also try to shoot some birds too but it is a lot more difficut than flowers π
Thank you Rudi, yes I love photographing flowers as well, much easier then birds. I like the bigger slower birds, they are always fun. π
Me too, they are easier to photograph π
