Downtown El Paso Texas
Downtown El Paso Texas, we do not go into big cities very often. But we were camping here for 2 weeks and had to run in for supplies so decided to go down town and walk around a bit. I do love architecture as well and taking photos of buildings when I see some I like.
I like the older ones that have been restored or just kept up nice.
This is an overlook area facing south looking over the city of El Paso, everyday there was a bit of a haze over the city. Somedays we could not see the mountains in the background at all.

Have not made my way to El Paso yet – looks quite interesting.
It was nice to walk around with hardly any people there, the downtown was so quiet. They built all the shopping north of there.
El Paso cool place been there few times
It has wonderful landscapes and so different depending on where you are at.
Very true
Yes true I agree I drive a truck so I have seen lot beautiful place
Guessing the haze is air pollution? How did you bear the heat?
Yes, I believe it is air pollution. We were in El Paso a couple months ago. So it wasn’t as hot as it is now. But it was so dry there. They really need rain bad there.
Towering buildings and then the squat cacti. 🙂
Thanks Sandra. Great shots of downtown and overlooking the city. It gives one both perspectives. Now, quickly back to camp…
You are welcome RJ, yes we don’t stay long in the cities. Traffic is crazy in cities. 😊
I spent part of the summer between my sophomore and junior year in college on a midshipman training cruise at the Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi. It was the most humid place I’ve ever been……
I have yet to make it to Corpus Christi, there is some good birding in that area I have read about.
Pardon my irrelevant and inane comment, Sandra. I wasn’t paying attention and initially thought you were talking about Corpus Christi rather than El Peso. At least both are in Texas!
That is ok, Texas is such a big state, one would probably never see it all and I have heard so much about Corpus Christi..
We haven’t been to El Paso in a few years, but it looks about the same as we remember. Your photos capture the essence well. I think the haze/smog comes from across the border.
Yes, just about everyday it looked like that. It is such an historical city. The entire area is unique.

Thank you very much Francine 😊
Thanks for these impressions of El Paso we only know from the Western movies 🙂
You are very welcome Rudi, this city has so much history in it. We did not get a chance to go to the museums there this time. 🙂
