Cyber Space or Print

Cyber Space or Print

Cyber Space or Print, the internet has become a great place to share photos, I truly enjoy looking at others photos as well. One really gets to see the world from folks taking shots of their own back yards. One of my favorite blogs from across the waters is called; Aussiebirder He shares the most colorful birds I have ever seen. They have quite the variety over there.

I sometimes wonder what will happen to all these photos floating around in cyber space, if the plug is pulled one day, do they all just disappear? I know I have had photos on my phone and my phone crashed and the photos are gone.

Now, I don’t save all of my photos, I do have external drives that I save some of them on so I can revisit them when ever I want. But it sure is different from back in the day when I would sit down with my Mother and get the photo albums out. She loved doing this, she could tell me who everyone was in the older photos. It was a walk down the streets of history listening to her talk about the old days.

I have gotten back into printing some of my photos now, I don’t want to always have to open a computer to see them. I have 5 different frames that I just change my photos in to change the scene. I send my photos to Walgreens via the internet, 😉 and they mail them to me. That is the nice thing about technology.

Have a Great Weekend

  2. Such an interesting read, I really enjoyed reading this blog. I also sometimes wonder what if all the photos are suddenly gone, then what will we do. Good to know that u print your photos now and making a collection of it. Great work!😊

    1. Thank you very much, yes what will the younger generation have to look at about history when they don’t print photos or books. 🙂

  3. I don’t have any of my pictures I’ve taken printed out … it is funny, as a woman at the Park just asked me if I print out pictures when she saw me taking a photo the other day. I’ve not taken many Spring photos at the Park … it is a little dull now and the dandelions have gone to seed and it just looks unkempt and unloved right now. I love this Junco – though it is not a vibrant color like some birds, the way the two colors are separated in his plumage is pretty remarkable to me.

  4. I’m a photo nut I have them all over the house. Although I did purchase a digital Frame and set it to change the pictures every so often. That is kind of cool

    1. Yes, those digital frames are very nice. You can see them all right away instead of opening up a computer.

  5. The birds look great! Unfortunately, the photos will disappear: sites fall out of use – and then they are gone. Unless they are of financial value. So we should be printing everything out! All the best, J

  6. That’s a good point.

I know, for that reason, I’ve been working on keeping a print version of my blog in binders. I haven’t gotten around to printing all of them yet, though; I wasn’t doing that from the beginning.

  7. I love the idea of printing some pictures and putting them in frames. Lets create a photo wall and enjoy our best shots on paper 🙂

    1. Yes Sherry, it is so much fun to get photos out instead of a phone to see them. My niece is coming here soon and I am going to get some older photos out to show her.

    1. This bird is a Dark Eyed Junco. Yes, I have been using Walgreens Drug store for years. They do quality work, and there is always a coupon so a print cost less then a dollar.😊

  8. It’s very important to print some favourite photos, holidays and family pictures. Some of our photos from the eighties seem to have faded to a strange colour and old black and white family pictures are in a much better state, ironically. Who knows where all our digital pictures will end up? How many billions are floating in the ether? My best photos are on my computer, ipad, phone, external hard drive and various memory sticks, but they could all stop working and be redundant!

    1. Yes, the younger generation gets there phones out to look at photos, but that isn’t the same and you can lose all of those so easy.

  9. Thanks so much Sandra for the shout-out for my blog it is much appreciated. I am always intrigued by your interesting photographic art forms. Yes the old hard copy photo prints do have a place still in our world, especially on our walls as constant reminders and constantly giving us pleasure. Thanks again.
