Cross the Bridge into August
Cross the Bridge into August, July has come and gone. How time fly’s. These bridges here are all crossing the Mighty Mississippi River taken from the Iowa side of the river.
This first bridge is actually gone now, they tore it down this past year. Well, last time I went by there they still had a small section of the bridge left to take down. It is replaced by a bigger more modern bridge now.
It sure made for pretty photos at night.

With all these bridge photos, have you ever visited Pittsburgh? More bridges than any other city, but then, there may not be many that are photogenic.
I have not been out that way yet. I have not been any where out east really. We hope to sometime.
With everything built up, urbanized or suburbanized, there is not as much wide open spaces as you have. But plenty of bridges. If they do not cut down every tree, we might still have some birds. I rarely see chickadees anymore.
Yes, I am so thankful we have a place like this to live. City folks don’t get to see a variety of birds much. I would never move back to a city.
I particularly like the night shots and the new dimension it adds to the bridge photos. A little haze or fog helps too.
Yes, down there on the Mississippi usually had some great foggy evenings when the lights would come on. Very mysterious looking.
Spectacular photos!!
Thank you very much ๐
Those are beautiful lit up at night or the sunrise as a backdrop.
Thank you very much Linda.
Nice bridges and great night photography Sandra.
Thank you Rudi, those bridges on the Mississippi River really light up at night.
Bridges connect us all.
This is a wonderful series of photographs. It’s nice to encounter bridges which are not over troubled waters.
That is so true Wally. Wonderful thought ad well, not over troubled waters. I like that.
The bridge show continues.
Yes, this is the last of them for now, until I cross some more. ๐
These are so powerful. For a long time now, I’ve been enamored of the natural world and believing its magnificence is nothing with which science can compete in terms of beauty and aesthetics. Thank you for this reminder, Sandra. When we’re inclned, humans harness math and science and other engineering tools and create awesome things!
Thank you Lisa, I agree with you. Amazing what man kind can build, not as amazing as creation itself. But beautiful in its own right.
Really pretty, Sandra!
Thank you Kellye, ๐
