Blue Heron on Vacation
Blue Heron on Vacation, one thing about the birds when you get down by the ocean is, they are not to afraid of people. So they stand right next to you which is great for photo opts. You will find them near people especially if they have a fishing pole in their hands, looking for a easy meal.

Thank you very much
How fun to see this heron mingling with the tourists. He had some wacky expressions didn’t he? Because he was fearless, it gave you an opportunity to get some great pictures.
That is the one thing I really like being here, the birds know people fish so they hang around real close. π
Yes, that heron was not inhibited like the other ones who see you, shriek and take off. You were at the right place at the right time!
I love how you emphasize doing something you are passionate about.

Lots of fun. Mr. Heron goes to the city. It sounds like a children’s book

WOW Sandra! What great photos of Great Blue Herons who look like they are also enjoying their vacations! My favorite birds and spirit totem according to a reading I had years ago.
Thank you very much, they are such colorful birds and a joy to photograph. π
Fun.
π Have a great day Marland.
Thanks, Sandra!
Wonderful photos!
Thanks, Sandra. Have a great evening
You also Francine, thank you. π
Beautiful photographs, but I am a bit confused. Are you on vacation? Is the heron on vacation? Or both?!
Both, π we go on vacation in the RV, we were just sitting near a beach with a hotel in the background and the heron was sitting with us.
But then, for a photographer, a vacation is taking photographs at a different location. But I agree about the fearlessness of the large water birds. If you make no sudden moves, you can get close, and I would bet if you are fishing, you might make sudden moves and they would still stand in anticipation.
Yes, so true Mark, we were sitting by the beach and we thought I bet if we just had a stick in our hands the birds would think we are fishing and come closer. They seem to hang around those who have fishing poles stuck in the sand.
Amazing!π
Thank you very much π
I’ve always seen white herons
Now that I have never seen before. There is a green heron I saw here also. It was very small compared to the blue ones.
Interesting!
Thank you
