Being Immersed in Nature

Being Immersed in Nature

Being Immersed in Nature – Whether it is a walk in the forest or hearing birds chirping in a luscious forest, there is something so remarkable and beautiful about being immersed in nature. It’s easy to be swept away with today’s technology and fast-paced living, but no matter where you are, nature always has a way of bringing peace of mind and grounding a person.

So, as you venture out to see the fall foliage, it’s important to be mindful of how we take care of nature as we enjoy the great outdoors and how we take care of our selves, physically and spiritually.

Being Immersed in Nature

The noise around us can be upsetting, the news seems to get worse everyday of war and rumors of war.

See how nature, trees, flowers, grass-grows in silence;

See the stars, moon and sun how they move in silence;

We need silence to be able to touch our hearts and souls.

  1. These shots are amazing Sandra. I have been immersed in nature a lot this week … I am soaking up the goodness of the sun, the beautiful leaves and the long walks as our days get shorter, colder and then the snow flies. My walks are calming to me in this fractured world we live in. Today was another beautiful day and peaceful until someone challenged me why I was wearing a mask – was I alive because of it was what he asked with a jeer. I said “yes” and moved on wishing I could have had a nasty retort, something you’re smart to not say these days.

    1. It is best not to answer statements like that. They don’t know you and we each have to make our own choices in life. But my choices will not always be the same as others and I would never question why someone is different then me. That is what makes this world beautiful, we are all different. Which is a good thing. 😊

      1. Yes indeed Sandra – I wondered why say something like this. Perhaps I am too concerned as I see no one else in masks, but as you say that was/is my choice. Differences in people is what makes the world go around. Heritage Park was very busy yesterday – people were admiring the trees at peak and soaking up the sun and enjoying nature. He was sitting in his truck and when I returned to my car about two hours later, he was still there, parked, in the truck, looking down (assume at a phone).

  2. “Nature always has a way of bringing peace of mind and grounding a person.” You couldn’t have said it better Sandra. We just returned from a week long trip childhood home where I’m surrounded by farmland and there are beautiful hiking trails that run through picturesque river hills. Did my soul so much good being immersed in creation. I can always hear the Lord better after spending time outside.

    1. I am doing the same Beth, visiting my sister this week who lives in a small rural town of Iowa. Peaceful farmlands and small time living. A wonderful way to be closer to our Father as well.

  3. You are right! I feel much better when I go outside on a sunny day. My spirits are lifted.

  4. I agree Sandra. The sounds of nature including nature’s silence are excellent for our overall health and mindset. The Lord created us to be closer to nature and dwell within it and it used to be that most people did. There are unseen and largely unknown aspects of nature that are greatly beneficial and all we have to do is be there as you well know. These pictures are great. What a great location. I can almost hear the sound of water. Thank you and Blessings

    1. Yes Mary, I do enjoy visiting Bond Falls in the fall. I have been going there since I was very little. It is always beautiful.
