Alligator Place
Alligator Place – There are some really old alligators here, the tour guide was telling us.
The alligator in the back is a female who is at the top of the seniority list in this area. They said her front leg is jacked up from battling with other gators protecting her young.
I hope to be back to this park again one day. Maybe during migration. They said the bird count is double to what I saw today.

Nice close-ups of the alligators Sandra – that’s a shame about the one and trying to protect her young.
Thank you Linda 🙂
Beautiful images.
Thank you ☺️
This gave me a flashback to the Alligator Farm tourist attraction that was located across from Knotts Berry Farm when I was young. We loved within walking distance but never went, and I’m bummed about that.
I have heard of that place. It was fun going on a tour of this little place, all about nature. Loved it.
Around the Lowcountry Alligators ‘of a certain age’ bear the marks of a long life. One of the bigger ones nearby lost a leg years ago. 😳. Doesn’t slow him down.
That is what this tour guide said. The older ones with the most scars are the strongest ones. A lot to protect the babies.
Both fascinating and frightening, a great photo opportunity.
It was an amazing place.
